Don't Fear the Past

sometimes its not the Future that brings Fear - it's the Past
what is our response to Failure?
- rut (paralyzed by failure and can't move past it)
- repeat (beginning of a cycle of habitual sin)
- regret (the focus is on the past)
- redemption (the focus is on Jesus and His grace)

Psalm 103

1 David knew Failure (vs 4)
- his failure was on display
- so is his response
- to Praise the Lord
- "redeems my life from the pit"
- rescue and even more - "crowns you"
- Satan says "you don't deserve it"
- the Lord says "I love you in spite of the fact that you don't deserve it"

2 David knew the Lord (vs 8-12)
- David highlights the character of the Lord
- compassionate
- gracious
- slow to anger
- abouding in lvoe
- forgiving

3 David knew Forgiveness (vs 17)
- His righteousness
- sin strips of of righteousness
- grace gives His righteousness to us
- Philippians 3:9
- having been forgiven, we can now forgive
