Session 2: Righteousness

follow all the rules
righteousness - doing the right thing with the right motives
actions broke the law - can’t justify doing the wrong thing - it’s still wrong, there is a consequence
some acts of unrighteousness have graver consequences
not based on our preference, we should get to decide what is right and wrong
based on the character of God

Wisdom - acting roghteously
God created in wisdom and wove creation together based on his rules
God doesn’t destroy his creation so murder is wrong
He is always doing the right things for the right reasons - the laws he made protect us and he is always acting in Love

We were created for relationship and when we walk in righteousness we connect with God

why does sin separate us from God?
sin is rejecting the character of God - to reject his goodness is to reject Him - we separate ourselves from who He is

our righteousness is not based on human decisions - not follow more rules - but be perfect! what impossible

2 Cor 5:21 - we separate ourselves and will get the retribution we deserve

we become confirmed to his image, we learn to live righteousness - we chose him and his character

We need invite him into the everyday simple parts of life; we will look different and that’s the point, we can know him and introduce others
