hoarding
that’s special to me vs common
something that defines who you are
mark a special moment in your life
had an impact on you


we fill our lives with things; we PURSUE many things

some are special, some are common
- not all are bad BUT…
- you must know the difference
it’s like a Maze
lots of choices, many lead to dead ends

- what is unique to you as a believer? what is something everyone participates in

there has to be a difference between you, a Christ follower and someone who does not know Jesus in the content, purpose of your life

ASSESS the habits associated with being young

There is some thing about being young which makes you have a tendency to filling your house with common things

youth, immature, distracted, deceived

- it’s ok to be a kid, but you aren’t going to be a kid forever, maybe it’s time to start making some moves

your desires set against Christ’s desires
your name great - His name great
attention seeking - attention giving
your wants - others needs

replacement - not just stop this, but add this

clear focus on new pursuits

you were created to do ‘Great’ things

we have a new master who wants us to be aware of New Pursuits

righteousness, faith, love and peace

do the right (godly)things
trust the Lord
put others first
healthy relationships

imagine this kind of life
not perfect, but you can thrive in it
this world is broken, but not forgotten

take some time: make some space, ask for help
pray the Spirit would
encourage
convict
strengthen
give wisdom/discernment

make this your prayer, and you will be useful!
“useful to the Master, prepared for good work”



1 what is your most prized possession, why is it special?
2 what are some differences between a person who knows the Lord and a person who doesn’t?
(eternal perspective on suffering, purpose, authority, blessings received, attitude, mouth)
3 what do high schoolers in 2022 need to be careful of? how are students being deceived?
4 what habits do you associate with being young?
5 what does God want to use you to do? (generally) how will these 4 pursuits help you achieve His purposes for your life?
