once you were…formerly - there is an old and now a new
- dead
- evil master
- selfish
- consequences
seen in you’re life and in other’s lives

But God
- rich in mercy
- loved
- gave His life
- raises from the dead
- grace and kindness

God fixes the mess made by sin through the work of Jesus Christ

2. God has a purpose

Masterpiece
- made new by the Lord so that He is honored and we are transformed
- transformed to now reflect Him and His character to the world around us
- Good works are response to the work Christ has already finished

Identity
- not defined by what we do (changing and can be taken away)
- not defined by what was done to us (temporary and wrong)
- our Identity is found in the unchanging nature of God not our own abilities or challenges
- we are made new to receive the fullness of what we originally created for
