"Every Good and Perfect Gift"

>>> NEW SONG >>>

Dear Midway Parents,

What an amazing opportunity and privilege we have to disciple your children at Midway while developing future worship leaders along the way. I’m so excited to announce that our children at Midway will be singing “Every Good and Perfect Gift” during the Thanksgiving season (Date TBD). I’ve included the audio file and song lyrics to help you prepare your children at home. My desire for the attached song and devotional is to encourage the spirit of worship in the hearts of our children and provide a resource for the entire family.

Start by spending time listening and singing the song together with your children. Then read through the devotional and spend time thinking, talking to each other and praying. Finish by taking action together on how God directs you to respond to His truth.

My hope is that this song along with the devotional will be a resource to help draw your family closer together while growing closer to our heavenly Father. So, listen to the song, open the devotional, and enjoy your time together as a family.

Serving Him together,

David Glenn / Worship Pastor

Read:

James 1:17; Psalm 100:5

Thought:

It is easy in the hustle and bustle of daily life to lose sight of the good gifts God gives us daily. This includes everything from food on our tables to the daily grace and forgiveness He provides. Throughout Scripture, we are encouraged to give thanks as a way to remember God's goodness and faithfulness to us. What a great habit to start or continue as a family.

Time Together:

What good things in our lives are gifts from God to us individually and as a family? Share with each other ways you have seen God show His goodness and faithfulness to your family this week, this month, and this year. Also, ask extended family members to share stories of God's goodness and faithfulness through the years.

Take Action:

Start a thankfulness jar as a family. In an easily accessible area, keep a jar with small slips of paper and a pen. Daily, or more often, write down a good and perfect gift from God for which you are thankful and place it in the jar. If a child is too young to write, have them draw a picture or have an older sibling or parent help them write it down. At the end of a predetermined amount of time (30 days), take time as a family to read them together After reading, pray and thank God together.

Talk to God:

Dear Jesus, thank You that every good and perfect gift comes from You. Thank You that all good things are a reflection of the fact that You are a good God. We ask that You help us keep an attitude of gratitude for Your goodness and faithfulness to us as a family. Please teach me and guide me. Thank You for Your help and love. AMEN

We'd love to hear from you!
